ELECTRONIC GIVING at ST. STEPHEN

Did you know you can give online through this website? You can make one-time gifts and/or set up automatic offerings if you wish so you don’t need to fill an envelope each week. Electronic gifts are fast and secure, and they reduce administrative costs, allowing more of every dollar to fund the important work we are called to do. There are plenty of other benefits, too! You can give anytime, anywhere to your favorite funds. It's convenient for those who like to make payments with a debit card or credit card. Schedule and manage recurring donations. Make one-time donations to special appeals. Pay for events, programs and other activities online. If you would like to give electronically,  click the blue button below. WOULD YOU LIKE TO SERVE AS AN ASSISTING MINISTER AT WORSHIP?

In the liturgy, an assisting minister is a lay person who leads some of the prayers, assists at the altar and distributes holy communion. We have four dedicated assisting ministers, but we need more. If you might feel called to this important ministry, please check off the Assisting Minister Volunteer box on the Sunday attendance card, or contact Pr. Reggie.

It’s really important that we know each other by name and can warmly welcome guests to our community. If you do not have a plastic St. Stephen name badge and you worship with us, member or not, we would love you to have one. Simply stop by the table in the narthex where the badges are and print your name on the sheet of paper. It’s a simple as that!

Please start wearing your name tag every Sunday and at church functions. They are free. If you would like to make a donation toward the expense, they cost us $5 each. Any gift is welcome but optional!

Sign up for the flowers that beautify our altar each Sunday

The 2024 flower chart is up. You will find it near the doors in the narthex. Why not choose a Sunday or Sundays to beautify our altar and honor a loved one by giving the altar flowers? They are only $35 per week and you may take them home after the liturgy, or they will be given to the sick or homebound. They may be given in memory or in honor of someone.  Signup is on the back wall of the gathering area.

Do you like electronics?

We are seeking to grow our sound and projection team. These people work the controls in the back of the church for both the sound system and the images we project. Contact Ron in the church office if you'd like to know more.

Join us in praying for those who have asked our prayers

Our email prayer chain is for the purpose of drawing the community in prayer for those who are sick or in special need of prayer. On Tuesday morning, we send out the names of those who were added to the attendance cards on Sunday. Special requests during the week will be sent out Friday morning. If you have prayer request, call the church office during the week.

Stewardship has been defined as everything you do after you say, “I believe.” Part of stewardship is our financial generosity and commitment to Christ through his Church. Summers are always challenging times for congregations and St. Stephen is no exception.  As a response to God’s blessings to you, we encourage you to keep your offerings current especially if you are planning to be away.  Not only does your generosity support local mission and ministry here, but through our mission support to the Florida-Bahamas Synod and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, we support ministries around the globe.  Thank you for your commitment!
